Carr Creek Connector

Mapping Our Work

The Carr Creek Connector, a program of the Center at Carr Creek, is a collaborative that includes the Route 15 corridor in Perry, Knott and Letcher Counties.

Purpose:  To develop and promote tourism as a component of diversification of the economy along the Route 15 Corridor and contiguous places.

Goal: To create a viable tourist industry that strengthens the communities connected to Route 15 in Perry, Knott and Letcher Counties.

The strategies of the Connector include:

To foster entrepreneurship along the corridor

To support youth

To develop and maintain an asset inventory

To organize a single tri-county event annually

To market the corridor and its attractions/events

To collaborate with surrounding counties

To include stakeholders in planning

Our work will demonstrate the values of authenticity, excellence, respect and prizing our assets.

We will measure our success by:

Increased awareness of the value of area lakes (Buckhorn, Carr Creek, Fishpond)

Improved communication

Increase in multi-day tourism

Establishment of new businesses
