The historic building, once known as the Carr Creek High School, was the place where Kentucky and Carr Creek basketball history started. The legendary 1928 Carr Creek Indians that played their way to Chicago in the national championship, the 1956 team that won the state title and the 1963 team that won the Louisville Invitational Tournament.

It is once again home to the Carr Creek Indians, owned by the Carr Creek Alumni Association, Inc. Based on Appalachian values and culture; the building is being reopened with a new inspiration. Plans are to transform the prized Carr Creek High School building into a regional visitor information center, bed and breakfast, restaurant and catering facility, gymnasium and events and conference center for reunions, parties, weddings, meetings, etc.
